QLD:Southern Qld councils get disaster funds
BRISBANE, Dec 22 AAP - Two southern Queensland councils are to receive disaster funding
to help restore public assets damaged by floods.
The Balonne and Goondiwindi councils are to receive assistance from the Natural Disaster
Relief and Recovery Arrangements fund after flooding that occurred in those areas in November
and December this year.
Federal Emergency Management Minister Robert McClelland said the payments are jointly
funded by the state and commonwealth governments.
